I have made em with all those things, plus a good file with two sides is a big help, you can get em for like 5 bucks. speeds things up big time!Mike

you can use sand stone other ruff stone or even concrete for grinding

A traditionaly one would by made by scratching grooves around the ends of the bone then hitting the bone against something or with something to break the ends off. then you would scratch grooves...

Bear, today I made two bone arrowheads with a vise, a coping saw, a rasp, 80 grit sand paper and a small file for the notches. They came out better than the ones I tried to make using a belt sander....

by wrapping small pieces of sandpaper around different sizes of doweling and using it as a round file you can do a lot of detail work such as creating barbs or notches.

Another thing that works great is if you get a round topped file, (round top flat bottom,) you can use the edge on that to make barbs as well.

Also support the edges On the finer work As bone will break easily.
